It's a beautiful fall day here in the Pacific Northwest and I started my day with a run. What better way to follow that activity than with a nice warm cup of bone broth with delicious, healthy additions? This is my favorite way to sip bone broth; with nice bright flavors to counter it's earthiness.
BONE BROTH ELIXIR
3/4 cup bone broth
1 tbsp grated fresh turmeric root (or 1 tsp dried ground turmeric if fresh is unavailable)
1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
1/2 lemon, with one slice in your serving vessel and the rest squeezed into it
1) Combine the broth, turmeric, and ginger is a small saucepan over medium low heat. Slowly bring to a simmer and allow to simmer for 3 minutes. With an immersion blender, blend until mostly smooth.
2) Squeeze the lemon into a cup and place one slice of lemon inside. Pour the warm broth over the top and enjoy!
